Let’s begin on making my personal mission statement. From what I understand of Habit 2: Begin with the end in mind. The personal mission statement should contain principles and values that you want to achieve.

It becomes the compass of the type of person who  you want to be. It acts as the lens on how you see the world. It is something that you can rely on because it is the fundamental truth about you. It is something that is deeply connected you in a deep level.

Even though we made our personal mission statement, it would still be necessary to be in harmony with our personal mission statement. Our goal after producing our mission statement is to live it. Live it, assess it, and organize it.

So the fundamental truth about what I want to be as a person present and the future.

1. Be the person who acts more than just talk.

I always aim to be the type of person who just acts. Let the actions speak for itself. I have the bad habit of making commitments and promises that I don’t act upon. It led others to believe me as someone who is not a man of his word.

I don’t want to be like that. I don’t want to be the type of person who boasts around with nothing to prove. All are baseless statements without proper reasoning and logic.

2. Be the type of person who respects time.

I respect other people’s time. I follow the Golden Rule for this.

Do not do unto others what you don’t’want others do unto you. I always respect other people’s time since I know that they have a lot of shit under their plate. I just frame it around that people have stuff do that’s more important than what we’re going to talk about.

The event we’re talking about my not be important to them but important to me, or It’s important to them but not important to me. The best case scenario would be that both of our situations are important to us.

3. Treat every experience as learning opportunities.

I get frustrated in not performing well. I feel anxious in high pressure environment, but I try my best to stay calm and perform optimally to the current best of my abilities.

I want to treat everything as learning experience and failure is just part of life. Failure can be tolerated in some levels. This should not become an excuse to perform poorly. I want to perform in my best capacity therefore when I fail I can reflect on what I did wrong and what to improve.

4. Take the proactive approach in mending and improving the relationship in the family.

I have always been that guy who is a product of his environment when thinking about the context of the family. This is related to my father. I don’t blame him like used to before. I still hate him, but it kepy improving. I blame myself for reacting in a way that I was controlled by my emotions and was not able to assess situations from a third perspective view.

I’m not a good talker but I’m rearlly good at taking actions. I will help my siblings through actions and words. I have to improve on my words though.

5. Accept the thoughts and emotions going through me. However, do not entertain them.

It’s important to acknowledge the state you are in right now. It allows you have a better idea on where you are standing right now. However, when destructive thoughts and emotions came entering your mind. Take a step back and observe them wholely. Always remind yourself that you are not your thoughts, you are not your emotions, you are in control of actions on how you react to them.

6. Remember that you are not your thoughts and emotions. Do not act on destructive thoughts since you are in control of how you react to them.

7. Be the type of person who can think of something positive on any given situation.

I don’t care what it is, but it’s important to at least one (1) positive thought out of every situation you are in.

8. Prioritize life in the perspective of Quadrant II.

We should always identify our Quadrant II (not Urgent, but Important) tasks and always make plans and schedules on how to achieve them. We should always prioritize these goals first then let other goals revolve around them.

9. Always understand your situation and know more about it.

Knowing something about the situation allows you to create a solution for the problem most especially involved in the household. Try to get involved in something that you can provide value to. Take this as learning experience. Be courageous and try new things.

10. Be sincere and honest but be decisive.

The problem with me right now is that there are situations where I am uncomfortable and don’t speak up. I come to practice this today. I need to speak up and be honest and sincere and make my own opinion about the matter.

I think this is brand new perspective that people might consider but you must always shoot your shot.

11. Always express gratitude.

Always be grateful towards the people who made your life easier and better even if you hate them. It’s always best to say thank you when they helped.

Always say thank you to the one who gave you goodwill regardless of intention. You never want to miss out the things in life just because you didn’t say thank you. However, you should think of the context before expressing your gratitude.

Gratitude can be expressed in different ways. Through actions or words.

12. Always be clean and organized.

I want to be a clean and organized person. I don’t want to be a person who always tries to look for things just because he couldn’t find his belongings properly. I want to be organized so that I can perform effectively. Being organized doesn’t cause unnecessary stress towards life instead it streamlines the process of productivity.

Additionally, I don’t want to live in a dump. Even if I do live in a dump. I want my dump clean. I want to be in a clean environment where I am comfortable. Where I can easily locate the things that I need for the following days.

13. Plan the day ahead.

Always plan the day ahead with tasks that are so simple that’s impossible for me not to do them. These are baby steps. The baby steps are significantly more important than not moving at all. I want to always move in the right direction. I want to always progress even if it’s just 0.001%. I am satisfied knowing that I moved from the place where I have been.

14. Be the type of who always do his current best when doing his work.

Don’t half-ass things. Always put in effort in every endeavor you do. Unless, you have decided on your own accord thinking about the consequences of doing such will it be permissible.

Always try your best even if it sucks ass. This is the part where you learn most.

15. Be open-minded. Accept Constructive Criticisms

When someone tells you an opinion listen to them. Listen to them. Listen to them. Don’t but in just listen to them. Seek first to understand then to be understood.

Don’t be such a butthurt when you receive negative comments. Dig through them and find something that is critical and something that you can learn from. Remember some comments may hurt you and you must acknowledge that and move on. Nobody is perfect not even God. Yes, I said it. If good was perfect he would always be loved but there are multiple people who hates him.

16. Remain Humble
