There were times that I’ve enjoyed the beginning of a story that I ended up binging most of the content only to find myself disappointed at the end because they betrayed and failed to deliver on their promises.
These are the said stories that I loved so much but ended up being a disappointment in the end.
- Solo-Levelling
- I hate the fact that the only one growing in the world is the MC and he developed a weird God Complex.
- A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special
- The Last phases of the story were very rushed. All the built-up on the first chapters were wasted and didn’t bring a satisfying pay-off.
- Overgeared
- I find it weird that his life in-game improved like balls and he became rich in real life, but he never decided to do something about his real situation.
- I find the weird romance sub-plot forced. I dropped when Grid and the count had a baby.
- Arrogant Young Master Template A Variation 4
- Chapters 76+ have been disappointing. The elements and mishmash of stories were so intriguing but it questions you what the story is about. Is our main character still the same person that we used to follow and love?
- I also hate the misunderstanding trope. It’s too much that it already became too annoying to read and deal with. Sometimes, it just better to progress than to read it.
- It’s so annoying that a smart and self-aware MC become so unaware and develop incel behaviors from nowhere. It doesn’t make sense.
- I Shall Seal The Heavens
- Meng Hao’s attitude towards spirit stones hasn’t changed when he’s already 1000+ years old with a lot of experience in his plate.
- I find it insufferable to have childish behavior that doesn’t mean jackshit to him anymore.
- I believe this is just a personal spite of mine. Sometimes, I wonder how can a 1000+ year old immortal that explores the intricacies and morality of life be so immature than a 78 year old Mahatma Gandhi and an 80 year old Siddharta Gautama.
- Tales of Demons and Gods
- The earlier parts of the story was kickass. This was the one that introduced me to webnovels. The latter part, however, was utter garbage. It was rushed to the extreme and the author rarely updates it anymore.
