In my first steps being a software developer, I started with Python, as suggested by multiple YouTube channels.
I bought a course about the language and started learning.
I did some of my own projects, but I eventually got bored after doing my main project. It was only after a few months before I tried programming again.
Soon, I went to college, and I was introduced to Java.
At first, I didn’t like it, but then I began to appreciate it for being so upfront about everything.
I liked that it was verbose, and everything’s laid out in front of you.
At that point, I knew I prefer Java over Python.
I know it’s controversial, but I don’t give a shit.
I liked the verbosity. I like the way it spells out what’s going to happen, even if it’s long.
When I’m making projects, it’s way easier to debug, because it’s clearer, and I know the output.
However, my friends don’t like it as much as the other languages.
It’s probably because Java is an old language and the techniques used by my professors were fucking ancient and out of touch of modern Java usage.
If only we were taught building modern web applications using Java, then we would’ve appreciated it more. It would also be 100X less painful than it was supposed to be.
Anyway, I like Java.
I would love to learn and build tools with Java as much as possible. It’s done a lot for me and I want to continue part of what makes it successful. It may not be the fastest for development, but the maintainability and structure, for me, makes it supreme.
Well, I’ll try another language soon such as C# maybe I’ll like since everybody’s claiming it’s better than Java.
Let’s see.
