When I was looking for my first job fresh out of college, I’ve applied to many places but I’ve only received so little offers.
In fact, I only received two offers. One was a BPO scam according to Reddit and the other one an unknown sketchy company who worked for Malaysia.
The “scam” offered a high base salary more than my peers, but I hesitated. The reputation was awful so when they called again I decided to reject their offer.
At that point in my life, I was desperate. I had no money, allowance, and time isn’t getting any longer.
Do I accept the offer from the unknown sketchy company or risk everything and find new offer elsewhere.
It wasn’t an easy decision for me. During those times, I regretted rejecting the first “scam” job, because a job is still a job.
However, I didn’t feel right with this unknown company, so when they called I held firm and rejected both of my offers.
With no offers left and no job to call for I cried, I felt like I made the worst decisions in my life. But, I sat there with my phone firm that I would never settle for less never again.
I started applying again left and right, it wasn’t until I received a call from a big tech company and passed their tests that I never felt so relieved.
Staying firm with my decisions to never settle for less made me have a bigger opportunity than I would’ve never imagined.
